The island is where the kitchen happens

Ask any homeowner where everyone ends up and the answer is the island. It is the prep space, the homework desk, the buffet and the bar all at once. We design islands around how your household actually uses the room — then engineer them to carry stone, seating and appliances without compromise.

Options we build in

  • Seating — comfortable overhangs for stools, sized to your counter height and legroom.
  • Waterfall stone — quartz and marble that wraps the ends for a sculptural look.
  • Integrated appliances — cooktops, downdrafts, wine fridges, microwave drawers and prep sinks.
  • Statement colour — a painted or wood island that anchors the whole room.
  • Deep storage — pot drawers, hidden bins and full-depth cabinetry on both sides.

Built to hold real stone

A large island with a stone waterfall is heavy, and the structure underneath has to be right. We build islands with reinforced, properly supported carcasses so your countertop is fully backed and level for the life of the kitchen. If you already love your kitchen but want a new centrepiece, an island-only project is one of the most transformative upgrades we offer.

Answers

Frequently asked questions

How big should a kitchen island be?

A comfortable island usually needs at least 90–107 cm (36–42 in) of clearance on every side for walkways, and around 60 cm of width per seat for stools. We size each island to your room and traffic flow during the design stage so it feels generous without crowding the kitchen.

Can I add an island without redoing the whole kitchen?

Yes. An island-only project is one of our most popular upgrades. We match your existing cabinetry finish where possible, or introduce a contrasting statement colour, and coordinate any electrical or plumbing needed for seating, a prep sink or a cooktop.

Can the island have a waterfall countertop?

Absolutely. We build the supporting structure to carry the extra weight of a waterfall edge in quartz or marble, and coordinate the stone templating and installation so the mitred seams line up cleanly.
